Shushilan, a national non-Government development organization established in 1991, is working almost all over Bangladesh. As part of our mission to build a Congenial Society for Economic and Socio-Cultural Development, we are moving forward to tackle poverty and vulnerability in the country, supporting the most disadvantaged, and helping people claim their rights to economic opportunities. We also empower women to participate in family and social development.
Our commitment extends to socio-economic development, sustainable environmental resource management, education & ICT, health & nutrition, human rights, good governance, and gender equality. Through these efforts, we have reached 9.5 million people. In response to COVID-19, Cyclone Amphan, and other crises, we have undertaken numerous initiatives alongside the Government of Bangladesh (GOB) to address all 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Our diverse team of experts—including professionals in livelihood, disaster management, climate change, education, health, nutrition, agriculture, gender studies, administration, finance, human resources, technology, and entrepreneurship—works together to achieve qualitative and quantitative results. Guided by our five-year strategic plan and core policies, we maintain high-performance standards in a safe, inclusive, and collaborative environment.
The success of Shushilan is built on partnerships. The support of the government, local authorities, donors, communities, private sectors, and civil society is crucial in reaching vulnerable populations. Our quality work has positioned Shushilan as a trusted organization in Bangladesh, and we hope our efforts will inspire greater engagement.
